Galle Travel Fiesta: Classic Travel Steers Galle to a New Frontier

The city of Galle was recently treated to a first of its kind Travel Fiesta organised by Classic Travel. The fun-filled event was open to all-ages, where the mini-carnival had a variety of games, raffle draws, and many other entertaining events organised for those in and around Galle.

Classic Fiesta, which was held in Galle Municipal Pavilion Grounds, was organised to celebrate Classic Travel’s fourth successful year in Galle, while creating awareness on Classic Travel’s tour packages and auxiliary services offered. Classic Travel opened its Galle branch as part of its commitment to venture beyond its client’s expectations to offer total travel solutions at a time where there was a growing need for a localised outbound travel business in Galle. Since then, it has been providing its customers a total travel solutions by bringing all the services that are available in its Colombo branch to Galle, with the exception of the in-house photo studio and 24/7 business operations. With this unique offering Classic Travel’s Galle branch has been able to establish itself as a key player in the outbound travel industry in Galle.

Suresh Mendis, CEO, Classic Travel, commented on the fiesta; “It was a good day for Classic Travel Galle. We opened the Galle branch four years ago and we’ve seen business grow steadily over the years. It was a pleasure to see the high turnout and the interest we managed to generate. The carnival was declared open by Sabry Bahaudeen, General Manager, Classic Travel, Shiham Imamudeen, COO/Director, Classic Travel and Saif Yusoof, Director. The event kept its promise of entertaining the masses from the start to finish, with various games and entertainment acts taking place. Rodeo bull simulator, mini golf, dart and balloon, puzzle, ring throw, mehendi and face paint where some of the most popular interactive segments at the fiesta.

As the masses flowed through the gates of the pavilion, the main attraction that caught the eye of passers-by was the inquiry booth of Classic Travel. What differentiated this inquiry booth from any other conventional stall was that it was a mock-up of a star cruise. The inquiry booth which was deemed as a must-see at the event, provided interested individuals with information on travel rates, while also carrying out other activities such as ticket processing, tour planning, and tips on procedures and instructions to remember when travelling. Another stall that was carried out by Classic Travel was the product presentation stall. This stall provided visitors with an insight into the different travel packages, products and services that was on offer.interactive segments at the fiesta.

“We were keen on spreading awareness about outbound travel in other areas of the country outside of Colombo. And the product presentation stall at the Carnival proved to be an ideal opportunity to spread this message,” commented Saif Yusoof, Director, Classic Travel. 

Amidst all of these entertaining acts, Classic Travel took further steps to show its appreciation to the residents of Galle, where it held a raffle draw to select three winners who received return air tickets to Bangkok and Chennai. The winners of the draw were K. M.Sasindu Sandeepa , Sammani Asinsa and W.L.P. Dilip Ruwan.
